Mindfulness In Recovery®

There is much more to recovery than learning to abstain from toxic substances, behaviors, habits, and thinking. Recovery is not simply an absence of something, it is the growth and flourishing of health, resiliency, well-being, and happiness.

It is our mission at the Mindfulness In Recovery® Institute to provide people with the training and skills to more effectively use their tools of recovery so they can fully engage in their lives in ways they find personally fulfilling. Whatever one’s ethnicity, religion, gender, or identity, it is our firm conviction that everyone is capable of, and deserves to, live a meaningful life in recovery.

Mindfulness In Recovery® (MIR) is an inclusive and comprehensive, strength-based mindfulness program developed specifically for people in all forms of recovery, including family and friends. It is designed to be integrated with all other forms of evidence-based therapies and treatment pathways, including the 12 steps.

“Mindfulness is much more than present moment awareness; mindfulness includes and facilitates the cultivation of concentration, wisdom, and the ability to make healthy choices that foster genuine happiness and a meaningful life.”

John Bruna, co-founder of Mindfulness In Recovery®
